Goals as part of efficiency orientation

Setting goals facilitates effective operation. When the goals have been defined in advance and worked into a usable condition, they can fulfill their task—contribute to efficient operation.

Efficiency-seeking goal setting necessitates that we set a few objectives. This often means giving up old habits and tasks. When we want something new, we often have to give up something old. In this case, we think about what we no longer want to do and what we should no longer do. Only after that do I think about what I need and want to do.

Achieving a goal must mean something. When you set a few goals, they should be meaningful and significant. One good question to ask yourself is: Is this really an important goal? What happens if I don’t do this?

A superficial approach to things produces feelings of frustration and boredom. The interestingness of things stems from a serious and profound approach to the matter. The focus on efficiency and thoroughness makes doing things more interesting. Determination and action generate inner strength and energy. This ability to do also generates positive feelings about doing and getting things done.

Efficiency and tackling things also create a feeling that things are going well. This creates a positive cycle of success, which further motivates effective action.
